In the future, every device around us will act as a window into various media. Broadcasting services will evolve to enable the delivery of necessary information in formats suited to the use of any and all devices according to the location and situation.

Delivering information whenever and however it is needed through the use of a wide array of devices. When we think about this new way of providing information, it requires the provision of content in an appropriate format according to the respective functions of various devices. For this reason, devices need to understand the content and user situation autonomously, then decide on an appropriate presentation method. Therefore, we have been working on the research and development of an IoT-based media framework as a mechanism to mutually coordinate three elements related to the media experience ? people, devices, and content ? in order to lay the foundation for future media experiences.
The IoT media framework recommends broadcast content according to various user situations by taking account of three types of information: content descriptions that signify content information, environment descriptions that highlight device capabilities, etc., and user context that details the situation or preferences of an individual. Utilizing the capability of a wide variety of IoT devices that are used in various scenarios in daily life will provide information for users in situations where viewing content is difficult and offer unprecedented content viewing experiences.
