Authoring tool for 3D space

Designing time-series 3D space for immersive content

AOKI Shuichi, Advanced Television Systems Research Division

Immersive media lets viewers move freely and look around a three-dimensional (3D) image space. The viewer can look in any direction they like, from wherever they choose, providing a more realistic experience. STRL is developing easy ways to enjoy immersive media using various types of display devices, like a head-mounted display or tablet. The authoring tool, showcased here, allows anyone to easily create immersive content by placing volumetric video, 360-degree video, and so on in a 3D space.
