[About the Director]
While Hidenori Sugimori was at Waseda University, he directed his debut film GREY which won him a prize at the Pia Film Festival. In 1983 he joined NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) as a director and directed various kinds of programs - documentaries, music programs, and dramas (e.g. "Sei-Sei-Sei - the legend of a Buddhist Priest -"). In 1991 he left NHK upon his 30th birthday and began working on his career as an independent director and writer.
