Michel Kang

After graduating from New York University's Dramatic Writing Program, Michael Kang became a director by teaching himself how to make films. His short films include A WAITER TOMORROW, recipient of the FilmCore Post Production Grant, and JAPANESE COWBOY, co-recipient of the Manhattan Community Arts Fund Grant. Kang has also directed a documentary series on bike messengers and filmed The 2000 Cycle Messenger World Championships for www.EVEOfilms.com. He also make a documentary about the Slant Performance Group entitled BIG DICKS, ASIAN MEN. Kang mounted a multimedia video installation for the play Division of Memory in collaboration with director Clarinda Maclow at P.S. 122 in New York City. He is also an actor and performance artist.

Juan Pablo Rebella and Pablo Stoll

Juan Pablo Rebella and Pablo Stoll were both born in Montevideo, Uruguay. Together they wrote and directed the feature film 25 WATTS, which won Best First Feature Film at the New Latin American Film Festival in La Habana, Cuba, Best Feature Film at the 8th Independent Film Festival L'Alternativa in Barcelona, Spain, Best Screenplay at the 5th Latin American Film Festival in Lima, Peru, a Special Jury Mention at the Cinema Jove Film Festival in Valencia, Spain and many others. Together with Fernando Epstein, they founded Control Zeta Films, a film production and distribution company that released 25 WATTS in Uruguay and is now developing a feature film and a TV series. Juan Pablo Rebella died in 2006.

Yesim Ustaoglu

After making several award-winning shorts, Yesim Ustaoglu made her feature film debut with 1994's THE TRACE. The film was presented at numerous international venues, including Moscow and Gotenburg. Her highly acclaimed second feature, JOURNEY TO THE SUN, received the Blue Angel Award for Best European Film and the Peace Film Prize at the 1999 Berlin Film Festival and swept the Istanbul Festival, winning Best Film and Best Director, where it was featured in the prestigious New Directors/New Films screening series. She continues to make highly-acclaimed films, such as her latest feature, "Pandora's Box"(2008), which received Golden Seashell at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.

Mai Tominaga

Born in Tokyo, Mai Tominaga started her filmmaking career while a film student at Tama Art University. While in school, she wrote and directed three short films, including SCORCHED, which played at the 1993 Pia Film Festival, the Hong Kong International Film Festival and the Helsinki International Film Festival. Upon graduation, she joined Pyramid Film Co. Ltd. and directed a number of TV commercials. She also wrote and directed the highly acclaimed animation/CG short films BUSTAMAN OF BUONOMO (screened at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2000) and SLOTH SYRUP (screened at the Hiroshima International Animated Film Festival, Tenerife International Animation Festival and CINANIMA2002 in Spain). "Rinco's Restaurant" (2010) is her latest film.
