Real-time Visualization of Hayabusa2
~Live streaming of what Hayabusa2 — 300 million kilometers away from Earth — sees “now” by using real-time CG~

Six years after its launch in 2014, the asteroid explorer Hayabusa2 successfully delivered samples of the asteroid Ryugu back to Earth in December 2020.

In collaboration with JAXA, NHK developed a visualization system that fully reproduces the location and position of Hayabusa2 in real time. Using real-time computer graphics, the technology rendered the probe’s touchdown on Ryugu in 2019 and other noteworthy scenes.
