Bringing NHK WORLD-JAPAN closer to you with "World GO!"
Have you heard of NHK-WORLD JAPAN?
NHK WORLD-JAPAN, the international service of Japan’s public broadcaster NHK, delivers the latest from Japan to the world via the news and a wide variety of programs in English, 24 hours round the clock.
For those living in Japan, you can watch NHK WORLD-JAPAN online (visit our official website!), via our free smartphone app or on selected cable tv channels.
We wanted to reach out to locals and foreign visitors in Japan to share more about NHK WORLD-JAPAN, so we created our own publicity caravan car, named “World GO!”, and started operations in April this year.
Here are some stats for you! World GO! is a 2 ton, 3 meters tall, 1.8 meters wide and 5 meters long vehicle. We also gave it a beautiful red finish, the brand color of NHK WORLD-JAPAN.
Built-in on the side of World GO! is a 55-inch monitor that we use to air the LIVE broadcast of NHK WORLD-JAPAN. This wonderful feature means that public viewing of NHK WORLD-JAPAN is possible anywhere, anytime!
What looks like a sun visor on World GO! is actually a solar panel which generates enough electricity to run the main monitor for at least 4 hours! Eco-friendliness is one of the traits of World GO!.
Stay tuned on this blog to find out more about NHK WORLD-JAPAN’s newest PR Ambassador World GO!’s activities around Japan. Be sure to come say hi if you see us on the streets!
