Meet the Finalists
(Primary Division)
This year’s online shift also produced some new events, including Meet the Finalists, which took place daily for the four days of November 1–4. The special features of online hosting made it possible for finalists to meet each other for the first time and compare notes about the intentions behind their works. Each session was chaired by the principal juror of the division in question.
Day Two was the turn of the Primary Division, with nine finalists taking part. Many of their programs tackled difficult themes, from disabilities, illness and abuse to LGBTQ issues. The program makers discussed everything from their special devices to the language they used to tackle their chosen subjects at the child’s eye view.
