Bryan loves Japanese horror films... or at least he thought so, until he somehow found himself as the star of his own scary movie! What was supposed to be a nice birthday trip to a mountain hot spring with his wife and daughter takes a mysterious turn, when he learns way more about Japanese ghosts and yokai than he ever wanted to!
"Yokai! Amazing variety! The Japanese forefathers sure had good imaginations!" ―Bryan
Coming from the UK, most of the ghost stories I grew up with were about fog-filled London streets or former members of the royal family who met a grisly end - certainly not "cute" little monsters eating cucumbers like a Kappa. I love this side of Japan, especially the horror ukiyoe wood-block prints you see. There is such a clear line from these to the creative output in manga and games, so it's good to see the tradition living on.
