The GTV program: "Saturday Studio Park" is broadcast on every Saturday afternoon. This is an open program to deliver hot news and to let the viewers know about present happenings at NHK.

On Saturday, October 30, in a special edition program, we answered simple questions such as "What is digital satellite broadcasting like?," and "What is done to receive the services?" The goal was to help our viewers understand digital satellite broadcasting which is to start in December of next year. Research Engineer Yuko YAMANOUCHI of the STRL appeared in the program, and introduced approaching digital satellite broadcasting service images, and explained the characteristics of digital broadcasting.
In order to promote further understanding of digital satellite broadcasting, another special edition of Saturday Studio Park is scheduled to be allotted for digital satellite broadcasting on December 18, 1999.
