We studied the security measures of content distribution services using IP network. Reliability,
e.g., the reliability of the information supply and correctness of information, is one of the most
important considerations for content distribution services. To ensure reliability, we must
prevent attacks against services over the Internet, as well as prevent attacks that are unique to
content distribution services. We analyzed these attacks and developed methods to prevent
them. We developed a secure and efficient content distribution system using IP multicast
protocol and implemented it for evaluation.
