Digital terrestrial broadcasting signals for the Kanto region will be transmitted from Tokyo Tower. The transmission systems will be in place for the start of broadcasting in December 2003.

Antenna specifications
  - Transmitting channels: channel 21 through channel 27, non-directional, gain: 8 dB, horizontally polarized waves
- Antenna diameter: approx. 13 m, height: approx. 12 m, total weight: approx. 40t
- Constructed jointly by NHK and five commercial broadcasters (Nippon Television Network Corporation, Tokyo Broadcasting System, Inc., Fuji Television Network, Inc., Asahi National Broadcasting Co., Ltd., Television Tokyo Channel 12, Ltd.)
- It is a "space shared multiple antenna" consisting of 10 vertical levels, with each level containing 30 cylindrically arranged stacked loop antennas.

Transmitter specifications
  - Output: 10 kW (the largest in Japan: combining two 5-kW transmitters)
- Channels: General TV on channel 27, Educational TV on channel 26
- Cooling system: The power amplification system is water-cooled.
