A satellite relay system connecting various locations
in the world was used during the opening ceremony of the Nagano
Olympic Games. Beethovens symphony No.9 was sung by a choir
dispersed around the world to the conducting of Seiji Ozawa. Although
connecting locations with satellite networks creates timing gaps
due to propagation time delays, this global chorus was kept in
beautiful harmony by adjusting the delay with a newly developed
time lag adjuster.
