NHK's international broadcasting service, NHK WORLD, produces souvenir calendars each year featuring twelve prize-winning photographs from an annual photo contest. Beautiful scenes of the seasons are captured by the fresh gaze of amateur cameramen across Japan, and have long been treasured by our audiences.

The photographs on this year's NHK World Calendar can be downloaded as wallpaper for your personal computer, by clicking on the button below. Wallpapers will be updated once a month.

<How to use wallpapers>

*Windows PC users------
From the buttons shown below, select the button for your chosen size for the month you wish to download.

Right click on the calendar on the page that now appears. Select 'Set Wallpaper' from the menu.

*Macintosh PC users----
From the buttons shown below, select the button for your chosen size for the month you wish to download. Place the cursor above the calendar on the page that now appears and hold down the mouse button for a while.

You will be asked where you want to save it. On the Macintosh hard disc, select System Folder, Appearance, Desktop Picture, Photographs.

To use the image as your desktop wallpaper, select Desktop from Appearance of Control Panel, press the Picture Selection button and select the saved calender.
