57 years have passed since that tragic day. The average A-bomb survivor is already over 70, and the terrible experiences are fast fading from memory. Hiroshima City and NHK Hiroshima put out a joint call for A-bomb pictures this year. 725 pictures have already been gathered. Combined with the 2,200 works submitted to a similar project 28 years ago, nearly 3,000 have now been collected. A database is now being compiled to describe when each picture was drawn and what it was purported to show.
