Along the way, they are chased by a crocodile and saved by an otter. For the two of them, each encounter is an opportunity for growth. Will Shooom and his sibling be reunited with their mother? Nuanced visuals, uplifting music and sound design stimulate the curiosity of children.

The final jury praised the film as follows: “a delightful and enchanting animated short film about family, environmental issues and empathy. With very little dialogue, the pictures do all the talking making it easier for pre-school children to follow the narrative and connect the dots for themselves. Produced with great intent and thought, SHOOOM’S ODYSSEY is a strong and well-crafted piece with high production values.”

*Please note: SHOOOM’s ODYSSEY will not be available on the Japan Prize Streaming Site due to rights issues.
