Session 2   Panelists

Jacqueline Hlongwane

Programme Manager: SABC 2
South African Broadcasting Corporation
(South Africa)
I started my career in 1992 as a high school teacher teaching English and Life skills. I was then “bitten by the television bug” and in 1994 I started working at the South African Broadcasting Corporation in the Education Division (SABC Education). My professional experience ranges from being a Researcher, Language Advisor, Television Programme Presenter, script writer, Production Co-ordinator, Production-Manager, Producer, Executive Producer and Manager of programmes.

During this time, I also produced other educational programmes mostly focusing on children and teenagers. In 2004, I was promoted to the position of Head of Genre: Reversioning and Repurposing where I managed a team who produced educational programmes using archive material.
