2014.5.27

Last April and the May I visited a remote area, located in the dry zone in the country. In this region, schooling of some children is a hard thing. Some of them walk around 4 km jungle track to reach sub road. Along this track, it is obvious that they may have dangerous incidents from the wild animal. But they walk. In a one jungle village five of children has to get down from the mountain and walk another kilo meters to reach to the school.
This region is full of natural beauty and numerous resources, so they learn many thing from the nature. They know how to ride bull cart.
They know how to get clear water from dried sand in a river.

We , all of the members of the crew, spent most fascinating time with children.

2014.2.14

It was great moment of my life, I started the production of “Schooling along Wild Track”. We had to cross a river and walked 4 km long track through the jungle to reach the village, where around 35 families are living. Their livelihood depends on very primitive agricultural system. 24 students learn at school with 3 teachers. I spent days with children and at the first date of shooting, children were very cute and now we became friends in great level. They expressed their ideas without hesitating. These kids guided us to many places where they spend their time freely. I rediscovered my childhood through their life.

Next report will be posted by Athula in April.
