Gunnar Dedio was born in the East German city of Rostock. After studying in Germany and France, he founded the LOOKS group in 1995. As managing director of the LOOKS group of companies, he has produced over 100 films over the past twenty years. Producing many of these as European co-productions, he also has extensive experience producing for and in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the Greater Middle East and South America. Besides his work as filmmaker, he is also teaching film production at the University of Applied Science in Mittweida, Germany.
