Title Truth Lies: Order
Country Argentina
Organization Channel Encuentro (Encuentro)

In this unorthodox approach to philosophy, Dario, a philosopher by profession, reflects upon chaos and order as he traverses the aisles of a grocery store. Why do we need order? Does order reflect the interest of the most powerful being among men? Is there order in nature? Incorporating both fictional and humorous elements, the program plays out the different perspectives to order, revealing its changeable and multi-interpretable nature. The program sheds the traditional labels of philosophy and explains that philosophy is a way of questioning everything, challenging viewers to see what they assume to be irrefutable truths in a new light.

Winning an award in the JAPAN PRIZE, the world's most important award in educational television, gives great pride to Channel Encuentro and also to our country.
This is the first time that an Argentine TV channel obtained this achievement, and it is clearly related to a national project that includes public educational politics that are being implemented throughout the country, and in which Channel Encuentro is playing an important role with its productions.
We work every day in order to encourage young people to build a school concept that motivates and fulfills the right to education through improvement of learning. Truth Lies: Order is an example of this; it is a series that provides access to philosophical concepts in an attractive manner and that deviates from the traditional philosophy lesson.

Truth Lies: Order takes a complex philosophical question – what is the meaning of ‘order’? - and explores it in an original, surprising and engaging way for a teenage audience. It uses a genre-busting mix of documentary, drama, music video, black comedy and graphics to make us think about difficult questions, and its quirky philosopher-presenter combines with excellent direction, camera work and sound to take philosophy out of the classroom and into ordinary, everyday life.
It is an ambitious, brave and subversive piece of work which sets a great example for producers in taking risks in tackling truly challenging subjects in innovative ways that appeal to a youth audience.
