The contest has three divisions: the Program, Web and Proposal Divisions. The Program Division targets programs with educational value, and there are four categories: Early Education, Youth Education, Adult Education, and Issues in Education. The Web Division was established in 2002 and targets educational websites associated with TV programs. The Proposal Division is the newest division established in 2003 with the aim of assisting producers from countries with limited means.
