Children of Nomads is an eye opener for children residing in cities about nomadic children living in adverse conditions. Nomadic people are considered criminal elements, and this program, at the same time, aims at sensitizing children and fighting for the rights of nomadic children.
Shruti, a 7-year-old Indian girl, interacts with and interviews nomadic children for the first time in her life. She is asked, "Can we meet God if we get on an airplane?", "How can I tell…I was very small at that time," and a variety of other questions. Shurti experiences culture shock continuously by the world of nomadic children. Unlike children living in cities, nomadic children draw wild animals such as peacocks in the mountains and fields, not ones in a zoo.
As Shurti and the nomadic children exchange opinions and feelings using their own natural childlike language, they both deepen their mutual interest and understanding. |
