| In the Adult Education category, programs for viewers over age
18 are entered and evaluated. In this category in JAPAN PRIZE 2002, 47 programs
from 23 countries were entered. The diversity of subjects among the entries illustrated
a wide definition of adult education, from motivational television campaigns to
history and arts programs to observational documentaries. Entered programs were
full of variety in terms of theme, format, images and direction. Each of the programs
clearly reflected its country’s political, economic and social situation,
and at the same time, showed the serious attitudes of the producers toward the
issue of what TV can do for society. |
