Idol group Morning Musume。'14 shot to number one on the Japanese singles chart in January this year with a track called "What is LOVE?"
The song was a unique collaboration with J-MELO viewers around the world. Morning Musume。'14 producer Tsunku♂ asked two questions: "What is love?" and "What does it mean to live?" Around 700 viewers in more than 60 countries sent answers. And those messages inspired Tsunku♂ to write the music and lyrics.
J-MELO's long-running New Song Project has given viewers a chance to create songs with lots of top Japanese artists. "What is LOVE?" is the first of those songs to go beyond the show and become a number-one hit.
And now, "What is LOVE?" is creating a buzz in new ways. J-MELO viewers around the world are making and sharing spectacular dance videos. And fans of Morning Musume。'14 across Japan go crazy when the girls perform the song on stage.
