- 3.11 and Radioactive Pollution
The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and tsunami occurred on March 11, 2011, resulting in an accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. This has left a huge impact on Japan and international community. The incident has caused serious radiation pollution and power shortages across Japan. The ECO CHANNEL brings you a collection of video clips on 3.11 earthquake and nuclear accident previously broadcast via NHK programs.
Japan Provides Teaching Materials on Radiation
Japan's Ministry of Education has released supplementary teaching materials to help children understand the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and the affects of radiation on health. This comes after many inquiries were made by instructors who want to teach students accurate information about radiation. The government is under criticism for it's inability to implement measures to deal with the nuclear problem, which includes a delay in providing teaching materials.
