UN Official Site: The United Nations General Assembly declared 2011 as the International Year of Forests to raise awareness on sustainable management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests.
Within this official site, you will find information regarding events being organised throughout the International Year as well as interactive web tools and resources to promote dialogue on forests.

Conservation International (CI): Conservation International (CI) works to ensure a healthy and productive planet for us all. Through science, policy and field work, we are applying smart solutions to protect the resources that we all depend on. We help communities, countries and societies protect tropical forests, lush grasslands, rivers, wetlands, abundant lakes and the sea.

WWF: WWF is one of the world's largest and most experienced independent conservation organizations, with almost 5 million supporters and a global network active in more than 100 countries.

BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation)

Established in 1922. A public broadcaster operating by subscription fees as its major source of revenue.
Has a reputation for its one of the world's greatest networks on coverage and fair-minded approach on news reporting. Proudly presents nature shows as its tradition such as "Planet Earth" (Coproduction between NHK and others) through which issues of environment are actively transmitted. Mark Thompson, Director-General of BBC, announced to collaborate with NHK ECO CHANNEL.

CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) Nature of Things: A public broadcaster in Canada established in 1936. Its popular long-running show, "Nature of Things," is hosted by David Suzuki, Canadian biologist of Japanese descent.

NFB (National Film Board of Canada): Found in 1939. Canada's public film producer and distributer of documentary film, animation, etc. Known as the inventor of the term "documentary". Rich in film archives and educational contents.
Working together with NHK upon production of environmentally-related programs.

Nippon Television ECO: In 2010, NHK collaborated with Nippon Television's environmental campaign in aim to set the stage for people to be more concerned about environmental issues and for them to take actions.
"Let's spread Eco Heart" is our joint campaign slogan.
