・Transport Stream Real-time Analyzer System [NAB2006]
Developed by NHK, this system can directly analyze and monitor TS-encoded data so that content itself can be monitored. In addition to basic monitoring functions found in existing TS analyzers, the system can extract encoded video and audio signals in real time and analyze those signals, enabling the detection of video freeze and block error and audio mute errors. It can also compare control signals in a TS with control information broadcast by the master control system of the broadcast station, enabling the monitoring of aspect ratio, audio mode and other parameters.
・New Educational Broadcasting Services Associated with Web Content [ABU2004]
As the internet continues to grow, schools are changing the way they teach, and broadcasting companies offering educational broadcasts are racing to develop new services. NHK proposes interactive educational services that explore the inherent benefits of broadcasting and web-based education. The ultimate aim is to enable students to learn in an active and enjoyable manner. The effectiveness of NHK's system was confirmed by means of inter-student communication in experimental lessons.
・HTS Filter System for Digital Terrestrial Television Transposer [NAB2004]
Developed by NHK, this is a channel band pass filter with a resonant element using a high-temperature superconductor (HTS) material. This filter consists of 12 microstrip resonators fabricated from YBa2Cu3Oy thin films deposited on an Al2O3 (sapphire) substrate. Using this, an adjacent channel attenuation of 30 dB or more can be obtained.
