Kenji Nagai joined Japan Broadcasting Corporatin(NHK) in 1973. Since then he had been mainly with the Planning Division of the Engineering Administration Department, where he had been in charge of the development of NHK's satellite broadcasting system. He had been also responsible to the start of digital satellite broadcasting service, and to the nationwide deployment of digital terrestrial broadcasting service of NHK. From 2006 to 2008, he was President and CEO of Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation(B-SAT). He was appointed to the Managing Director of NHK in February, 2008. Since October, 2009, he is General Managing Director, Executive Director-General of Engineering, responsible to all aspects of NHK's engineering and information systems. He was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1948. He received B.S. and M.E. degrees in electrical engineering in 1971 and 1973 respectively from Keio University, Japan.
