Hi-Vision is a massive pillar service to support Digital broadcasting in Japan, both terrestrial and BS satellite.　NHK broadcasts a wide range of Hi-Vision programs that include news, drama, sports and documentaries, all with breathtaking realism provided by high-definition quality pictures and high-fidelity sound.

About 90% of the programming on General TV, NHK’s core terrestrial channel, and 100% of BS-hi, NHK’s BS Hi-vision channel programming is broadcast in HDTV.
