How is Hi-Vision being used? (Production advantages)

Shooting in Hi-Vision is simple

One of the biggest advantages of Hi-Vision is that it offers image quality on a par with film along with the ease of shooting of standard TV. Hi-Vision cameras are now very compact and easy to use, with built-in recording devices. Hi-Vision can also be used to shoot continuously for up to 120 minutes, compared to just 20 minutes in the case of film. This is particularly useful when shooting documentaries in the field, where Hi-Vision can make the difference between capturing an important scene and coming up empty-handed. With Hi-Vision, the cameraperson can check on the spot what has been shot, which also helps to keep costs down by keeping tapes to a minimum.

Hi-Vision also has advantages in the post-production phase. It allows color and brightness levels to be corrected and processed, and supports sophisticated image synthesis with high-quality computer graphics.
