Hi-Vision offers sparkling color performance. An Hi-Vision images has much more color information than a conventional TV images. And, a conventional TV system uses one line to carry both brightness information (the luminance signal) and color information (the chrominance signal) in a composite form. The transmitted signals are then separated to be displayed on the monitor. Since it is difficult to completely separate the blended signals, some blurring of colors and loss of resolution occurs. With Hi-Vision, however, the system transmits brightness and color information separately, thus resulting in high-definition images in which the colors are rendered with vivid clarity.
