Women around the age of 40 are the first generation born during the turbulent era of the women's liberation movement in the 1970s. These women are better educated and have taken a greater role in the workplace. They have postponed marriage and have fewer children. But as they reach the pivotal mid-way point of their lives, are they satisfied with the choices they have made? What new struggles and challenges are they facing?
Women at 40: A Silent Revolution follows 10 women around the age of 40 from 10 countries.Through intimate personal narratives, these women reveal how they are challenging existing norms and provoking changes in society by reinventing themselves.
